Before you begin

Caregiver audio requires configured household microphones and a private, single-use invitation from the owner. Choose Sign in to your household and enter the code within 24 hours. Caregiver audio works over ordinary HTTPS without Tailscale on the iPhone. Installing Nightlisten does not grant access. Camera video is not currently enabled for public caregiver access. The separate owner connection retains its existing Tailscale setup.

Explore safely

Select Explore synthetic demo on launch to try generated audio, a test video and controls without a household connection. Everything is labelled synthetic. Sound-mode examples were processed beforehand; this local demo does not establish live network or hardware performance.

Listening and shared controls

Caregiver Pause/Listen applies to your phone, and caregiver room mute, gain and noise settings affect only your session. The owner connection retains shared Stop/Start and room controls; coordinate those changes with other listeners. Phone chimes default off; silence alone does not establish a healthy connection.

If listening or viewing stops

• Check the displayed connection and room status and your internet connection. For the separate owner connection, also check authorized Tailscale access.
• Check audio separately if only camera video is unavailable.
• If you cannot establish that audio is current, check the room directly and contact the household owner.
• Avoid restarting services or changing shared settings while another caregiver relies on them.

Equipment and network interruptions can disrupt playback. Nightlisten does not guarantee uninterrupted monitoring.

Help us troubleshoot

Include app version/build, iOS version, playback mode, approximate time and the visible error. Review diagnostics before sharing. Do not send passwords, private keys or unnecessary nursery footage.

Removal and deletion

Sessions expire after at most 30 days or 7 days unused. Sign out stops local playback and requests session revocation; if removal cannot be confirmed, ask the owner to revoke access. Request access removal or deletion through the support address. Uninstalling the app alone does not revoke separate server/network authorization or delete server settings and logs.
